This sound source list is not meant to be a comprehensive list but has been developed to highlight key sources relevant to activities managed by the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM).

As such, BOEM focuses on acoustic sources used by the marine energy and extraction industries, as well as the scientific research community. Acoustic sources used for military applications are not included here.
